It has set priorities and invites applications within those priority areas. In practice, the Trustees do not consider applications for payments to individuals and do not generally pay grants below \u00a31000 or over \u00a33000. The Trustees generally favour charities with an annual turnover of \u00a3500, 000 or less. (This limit does not apply to Service welfare charities.) They prefer their grants to be applied for the purchase of specific items to assist:<em> &#8211;<br>&nbsp;<\/em><\/td><\/tr><tr><td>&nbsp;<\/td><td>Personnel within the Armed Forces and Ex-Servicemen and women<br>&nbsp;<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>\u00a0<\/td><td>Sport and Recreational Facilities for young people, giving priority to Cheshire and Hertfordshire<br>&nbsp;<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>&nbsp;<\/td><td>The Welfare, Protection and Preservation of Domestic Animal Life, giving priority to Cheshire&nbsp;and Hertfordshire<br>&nbsp;<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>&nbsp;<\/td><td>Natural History and wildlife<br>&nbsp;<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>&nbsp;<\/td><td><strong>I<\/strong>n support of hospices, churches, schools, health and social welfare charities associated with the counties of Cheshire and Hertfordshire<br>\u00a0<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>&nbsp;<\/td><td>Charities which would have had particular appeal to the founder, Major Robert Clutterbuck<\/td><\/tr><tr><td colspan=\"2\">Within the above categories the Trust prefers to make grants for specific items and projects rather than for running costs. <br><br>The Trustees will not normally consider appeals from charities within two years of a previous grant being approved <br><br>The Trustees generally meet twice in each year to approve grants. The deadlines for the rounds of applications are 30th June and 31st December in each year.
